really cool that i found this one ) it's an Aye aye (vingerdier) showing how it looks for food. It has a really long small finger which he taps on wood so he can check which sounds hollow or he can feel movement under, then uses said finger to grab it.

ownedeaters
Today i'll be showing various amounts of ant eaters! another marvelous evolutionary species. they are from the order of Xenarthra which in dutch means "tandarmen" or teethless.
GIANT ANTEATER

NORTHERN TAMANDUA
NOORDELIJKE TAMANDOEA
This species is adapted for treelife, just like his smaller cousin the silky anteater. It has big claws and a gripping tail which makes him an impeccable climber.
Deze soort is aangepast voor het boomleven, net zoals zen kleinere neef(de dwergmiereneter). Ze hebben grote klauwen en een grijpstaart waarmee ze fantastische klimmers zijn.

De waarschijnlijk meest gekende van de soort is de reuze miereneter. Geen idee of die in het nederlands ook wel mierenbeer zou genoemd worden maja. Ik heb hem 1 keer in het echt gezien en het was echt indrukwekkend om het voorbij te zien sloffen.

these live near streams and rivers most of the time, looking for their prey be it on trees or the ground, they not solely live on termites and ants(altho they prefer termites especially the larvae) they also feed on honey and bees.

The break is over!
I'm back again ready to feel some updatin'
I noticed there's a new dvd out called "oceans" well i'll call it "new" cause I didn't know it existed. Haven't checked it out yet but it'll probably be as jawdropping as planet earth.
Maybe even more cause the denizens of the deep are some of the (if not THE) most bizarre creatures in the world.

A few of my favourite salamanders/lizards for you to gaze upon :)
first off the moloch or thorny devil!
the thing i love the most about him is the fact that he can make water go up via his skin and lead it to his mouth, doesn't need to bother to lower or raise his head to drink!
komodo dragon! we all know him ;p he has this badass stroll aswell

and ofcourse the japanese giant salamander, one of my all time favourites (damn hard to find good vids tho.. well on youtube maybe i should broaden my search ;p or should rip some dvd scenes)
axolotl! they be awesome, period note to self: look beyond youtube cause only shows crap
their external gils make them look rather ghastly don't they (awesome!)
